SHG S.A. is building the first private hospital in the Adamawa region, providing quality care to 8.4 million people.
Located in Ngaoundéré, capital of the Adamawa region, this facility will open in Phase 1 with 41 beds and 10 essential medical services; Phase 2 will bring capacity to 250 beds in total and complete the offering to reach 23 specialties in the long term. From orthopedics to medical imaging, by way of urology, gynecology, and dental and maxillofacial surgery, it will address the most urgent needs of a population currently deprived of specialized care.
To bring this vision to life, SHG S.A. has committed to its first major project: Sahel International Hospital (SIH), a private referral hospital under construction in Ngaoundéré, the capital of the Adamaoua region.
The choice of Ngaoundéré reflects a major geographic and strategic vision. Located in the central part of Cameroon, at the hinge between the northern and southern regions of the country, Ngaoundéré holds a privileged position as a national crossroads. This location, reinforced by its rail and road connections, makes it a particularly relevant site for a referral hospital with an interregional vocation.
The choice of Ngaoundéré is therefore not only territorial: it expresses the will to build a hospital serving all Cameroonians, while meeting the significant health needs of the populations of the Grand North and surrounding regions.
The ambition is to create a modern hospital able to offer high-quality medical and surgical services, progressively meeting international standards of excellence. This commitment rests on three fundamental pillars:
Guarantee modern, accessible, safe, patient-centered medicine, in line with the best international medical practices.
Bring together highly qualified health professionals, promote continuing education and encourage the transfer of skills between the diaspora and professionals working in Cameroon.
Equip the hospital with modern medical equipment suited to the requirements of diagnosis, treatment and specialized care.
Beyond its health vocation, Sahel International Hospital aims to become a true hub of expertise, training, innovation and job creation, contributing to the medical standing of the Grand North and of Cameroon.
The development of Sahel International Hospital follows a strategy structured in two complementary phases, as illustrated below. This progressive approach aims to ensure control of investments, the economic viability of the project and the build-up of hospital capacity.
Opening planned for November 2027 · 41 inpatient beds
Envisaged opening 2035 · additional specialties · 250 beds in total
