Biomedical Analysis

An on-site laboratory changes the pace of care. A blood count, an electrolyte panel, a glucose test or a pre-operative work-up returned within the hour allows same-day surgery; the same tests sent outside add a day or two to every decision.

The SIH laboratory will provide routine biology — hematology, biochemistry, serology, bacteriology — the pre-operative work-up for all surgical departments, and monitoring of inpatients.

Its set-up is led by a shareholder who directs a reference medical analysis laboratory in Cameroon, familiar with MINSANTE regulatory standards and with reagent supply chains — the usual weak point of laboratories outside the main cities.
