Specialist Consultations

Specialist consultations are the hospital's front door. This is where it is decided whether a symptom calls for simple treatment, further investigation or surgery — and it is where, today, many diagnoses are lost in northern Cameroon.

SIH will offer consultations in the specialties its platform supports: orthopedics and trauma, urology, general surgery, with immediate access to imaging and the laboratory. A patient can be seen, investigated and directed on the same day, instead of traveling between separate facilities.

The SIH model rests on supervision by its medical diaspora: nineteen practising physician shareholders in Europe and the United States, who bring the clinical protocols of their institutions and access to their networks for specialist opinions.
